APPLY TO ONE OF OUR GRADUATE SOCIAL WORK SCHOLARSHIPS!

We offer two new scholarships that reflect Roberts Wesleyan University's commitment to the social work field.  They will serve eligible students who provide evidence of strong academic potential and have professional career goals that are in alignment with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) core social work values and RWU’s mission to transform society.  Each scholarship is a one-time award of $2,000 distributed equally over the terms a student is enrolled in the program.

  • MSW Racial/Ethnic Diversity Scholarship: this scholarship reflects Roberts' MSW program's commitment to increasing racial and ethnic diversity in the field of social work. 
  • MSW BT Roberts Service Scholarship: This scholarship reflects the RWU Master of Social Work Program’s commitment to advance the work and vision of our founder BT Roberts, and the University’s mission to prepare thoughtful, spiritually mature, service oriented people who will help transform society.

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES:

Students must be enrolled in the MSW program as a new student to be eligible to receive the scholarship.

Scholarship winners will be selected by a scholarship committee. 

  • A MSW scholarship committee (composed of two+ faculty members) will review candidates who have applied for the scholarship and completed the MSW application
  • The scholarship committee will make selections based on a candidate's scholarship essay and application file, which includes references and an admissions essay that discusses career aims and objectives, social commitment and values, and academic readiness, etc.
  • If more information is needed to select scholarship recipients, the committee will invite top candidates to a brief virtual interview to make a final determination

The deadlines to apply to the scholarships are as follows:

  • May 2024 (Advanced Standing) application deadline: April 1st. Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 19th.
  • Fall 2024 application (Standard program) deadline: July 1st.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 19th.

Step 3: Apply to the University

If you haven’t already, apply to the university. To be considered for the scholarship you must be accepted into the graduate social work program.
